North Wind Wellness Centre (NWWC) - New Addiction Centre Announcement

We are very excited to announce that we have been selected as the architects, along with TWS Engineering, for the design of a new 120-unit addiction recovery community housing (ARCH) for the North Wind Wellness Centre Society, just outside of Dawson Creek, BC. We have been working with the group since last spring securing land use for the centre in its rural location.

The society serves the First Nations Indigenous and Non-Indigenous communities of northern BC and Alberta. This a great opportunity to contribute to the local groups by providing not only treatment facilities, but a cultural centre as a source of pride where elders and others can exchange and pass on their cultural and spiritual traditions. This will be carried out through a direct connection to the land with vocational and agricultural recovery programs.

The first phase of the project is due to be completed in the fall of 2022.

Internship - Nima Amini, Junior Technician

Kumlin Sullivan Architecture Studio would like to announce the internship of Nima Amini as a Junior Technician in our office for the next 20 weeks.  Internships like this give a student practical experience, in conjunction with their studies, to be a more well-rounded candidate upon graduation.

Nima has completed a Diploma of Architectural Technology from SAIT Polytechnique (2019) and is currently furthering his studies at VIA University College in Denmark in their ATCM program.  This university, and their program, have an association with SAIT and recognize the SAIT program as a prerequisite.

We have supported the practicum program with SAIT and have taken on many SAIT students over the years through their practicum program.  We are pleased to have the opportunity to collaborate with VIA and their internship program, furthering our commitment to supporting new members in the industry.  Nima will be with us until January of 2022 at which time he will be returning to Denmark to complete his studies.
