Project Description:
The building is a single storey wood frame structure with a centralized administration and social gathering area surrounded by resident wings. This was a conversion of, and addition to, an existing lodge style wing into a dementia/Alzheimer’s wing of 6–4 person suites for up to 24 residents in this rural facility. The original wing was a traditional institutional hospital style ‘nurses’ station’ layout. The nurse’s station was removed and a large domestic kitchen was the new nurse’s station area as well as part of the therapy program for the residents.
